Optimized Supply Chain for Green Chemical Manufacturer
Reduced Capital Outlays and Operating Expenses
A renewable chemicals company starting up its first commercial U.S. plant needed an efficient method to store and move bulk chemicals to a growing customer base in downstream markets, such as specialty coatings, pharmaceuticals, personal care and consumer products. Located in the rural Midwest, the new facility had limited on-site bulk storage and could only load product onto bulk trucks.
With no means to ship by rail or in drums, and with limited blending and packaging resources, the facility needed railcar capabilities and additional tank storage but wanted to avoid the significant costs and time constraints associated with new construction and infrastructure.
